Apple TV+ Event - Please explain me this

She had a talk show that ran for 20 years, has a world famous book club, and was in millions of homes daily. Compare that to Spielberg who’s had a great career and revolutionized Hollywood, but you only see his movies every 3 to 5 years. I wouldn’t necessarily say Oprah is bigger than Spielberg, they’re both A-list celebrities, but she’s definitely a presence to be reckoned with.
Yeah, I gotta admit i'm totally horrified at Apple for going down this route. I honestly thought that outside of the US, these celebrity talkshow things were last century.
For me, in today's YouTube world, Apple seems to have lost the plot with their TV show ideas.
And will someone PLEASE fire that idiot in marketing who keeps coming up with Plus and Max branding. Seriously, Is that the best that Apple can do?
I'm really not convinced that people outside of the US will be wanting to pay for these offerings from Apple. They are all a bit sad!
AND, this the first Apple event that I did not bother watching the stream of as I had no interest in their offerings. But hey, here's to more inspiring things

Well, I'm personally quite interested in that credit card thingy. I would get much more back than what I get with the grocery's points! And I could get a rid of my CC saving 30€/year.
I'm not sure how I could use it in Amazon, though...

I agree, I cannot see there is anything of much interest to viewers outside the US. Nothing wrong with that - they have to start somewhere and that's Apple's main market.
With, say, Netflix, I can see programmes from all over Europe - Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, etc. and from South America. There was nothing like that announced for ATV+

I agree. But at least here in the UK we’re normally not too far behind. Lots of countries still don’t have Apple Pay.
I read an article that said they are going to launch in 100 countries by the end of the year. Although I find that difficult to believe TBH, I just can’t see how they could have tied up that many licensing agreements by then. Unless it launches with a dearth of content.
So you are hoping to get this card in Italy? I understand the avaiability is limited to US only.

Crap. With all those "available in 100+ Countries" everywhere I must have got confused. I doubled checked, now. Yeah, you're right. US only. Now that event is even more disappointing!
Ok. But.. why? Just.. Why?? She is just yet another.. chatting woman on TV! Or maybe I am watching too much Al Bundy in Married with Children lately!! Still I agree with Al the Great.
That is because we, europeans, [c|w]ould use this card as a titanium key to steal cars...
Steven also started Oprah’s acting career when he cast her in The Color Purple. She was wonderful in it. She is a mogul too. She created an empire. Not discounting Steven in any way. I LOVE him! But what she’s been able to accomplish is miraculous.
