Apple TV Family Sharing

I understand the technical limitation for not allowing the 2nd version Apple TV to get some of the cooler new features (redesign, peer-to-peer AirPlay), if Apple wants to claim that. But why no Family Sharing option? That's a feature that requires no extra processing power or other technical limitation. Big misstep in my opinion, and limits the usefulness of the device for families.
