I have an Apple TV1. I lost (erased:( ) my ripped TV shows files from itunes that are on my Apple TV. Fortunately, they are still on the ATV hard drive. I found them and and can reimport them to my Mac via CyberDuck. But they are named PLQG, etc. I would like to know to get the file names back so that I can have them in the correct order to watch. Season 1, epidsode 1, 2 etc.

Anybody know how to do this?

Figured it Out

There's enough detail left after the import to slueth the episodes. Date modified, file size, etc.

Set iTunes to organize your library and import them to iTunes.
Needed metadata is still in the files imho.

Are the files still useable? Like the file name may be PLQG, but does the file play and does it still have metadata embedded in it when you load it? If so, you could use the Perl language that is built-in to OSX and read the metadata and then rename the file from that.

I could help you with that if needed.
