Following an announcement earlier in the month that "The Snoopy Show" will launch on Apple TV+ in 2021, today WildBrain revealed that a collection of new one-off specials will also be coming to Apple TV+.

These specials will include the popular characters celebrating Mother's Day, Earth Day, New Year's Eve, and going back to school. Besides the new series and specials, fans can also expect a 70th anniversary documentary film coming next year on Apple TV+.

In addition to the new content, Apple TV+ is getting iconic Peanuts specials, including "A Charlie Brown Christmas," "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." The Halloween special will premiere on Apple TV+ today for subscribers, and then it'll be free for everyone in the TV app from October 30 through November 1.

"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" is coming on November 18 for Apple TV+ subscribers, and then it'll be free from November 25 through November 27 in the TV app. Lastly, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" premieres for subscribers on December 4, and then it'll be free from December 11 through December 13.

Apple first inked a deal with WildBrain (formerly DHX Media) back in 2018, agreeing to be the exclusive home of new Peanuts content. The first of these shows was "Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10," for which Apple won an Emmy.

Will it be available as a free rental in the TV app, or as a free "purchase"?

It's confusing... it says it'll start streaming on one date and then says it'll be available on another...

I'm understanding it as: people who have an Apple TV+ subscription get to stream it first and before the people who don't have an Apple TV+ subscription. And people who don't have an Apple TV+ subscription can only stream it free during/between the listed dates.

These have been removed from purchase from the store... I remember wanting to buy them last year, and wish I did! I would assume anyone who purchased them still has access to them though.

This is a bummer.

Great! Where is the Father’s Day Special?

I thought TV+ was supposed to be entirely Apple original shows. (Although I do love Peanuts, and will be looking forward to watching some of these again for free now.)

This is right up Apple's alley. I was wondering whether we'd see more Peanuts content brought in like they did with Fraggle Rock. Apple being *the* place to watch Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang is such a perfect fit.

oh nice. I bought the Peanuts Holiday TV bundle a few years back (since these were TV they are not MA or 4K) but looks like the TV+ versions will be 4K, so that's nice.

My son was just asking if we could watch the Charlie Brown Halloween Special this week too.

Caught about 5 minutes of "Great Pumpkin" today…

Having owned the DVDs in the past, I was bowled over by the image quality and color representation of the 50+ year old special in 4K Dolby Vision on Apple TV+. It was pretty great!

This is good. Love Charlie Brown Christmas and Halloween specials! Classic. Thanksgiving is also good.

Does anyone know if this means that ABC will no longer broadcast these specials? For many years now, ABC has broadcasted all of these during each holiday period.

Nice! This makes up a little for the ridiculousness that is Tehran. It's also way more realistic :) These were some of my favorite specials when I was growing up

Nothing ridiculous at all about the spy thriller Tehran. I wait for a new episode to drop every Friday.

I don't think they're going to anymore. ABC's contract to air the Peanuts specials was set to expire some time in 2020. Perhaps it has already expired and they don't want to renew it, since they don't show as much interest in the Peanuts anymore as they used to, since Peanuts isn't a Disney property and especially now that Wildbrain co-owns the Peanuts with the Schulz family. This became especially evident when Pixar came out with "Toy Story of Terror," and ABC, being a Disney company as well, loved it so much that they kicked "Scared Shrekless" (the special that used to be paired with the edited "Great Pumpkin" special) off the network to make room for it, and would often promote TSOT way more while barely mentioning the "Great Pumpkin" special. Oh, the "Great Pumpkin" would air a second time, uncut and paired with an edited version of "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown," but ABC would just stick it on a random night in a random timeslot where nothing new is scheduled on their network (more often than not pitted against a football or World Series game or some other big TV event.) They didn't even do anything for the 50th anniversary in 2016!
I guess when ABC let the rights expire and chose not to renew the contract, that was when Apple TV+ jumped at the chance and nabbed the rights. It's too bad; I was kind of hoping FOX would pick up broadcasting rights, or maybe even CBS could begin airing them again! It just won't be the same...

I certainly hope all of the requisite identity trigger warnings will be made prominent as they are in all Disney films.

What are you even talking about, and what does Disney have to do with Peanuts or Apple TV+?

Are you making stuff up? Yeah you are 🙄

It is only available on Apple TV, not any broadcast channel. EVERY Facebook post on Apple TV has whiners complaining about how they can't watch them on broadcast TV anymore.

First of all, Apple BOUGHT the rights. The 'fault' lies in those who SOLD the rights.

Second, if you're that much of a fan, WHY don't you OWN the DVD by now. So help me understand, you'd rather watch it on network TV WITH commercials than your OWN DVD with NO commercials or Apple TV (free for 3 days) in 4K?!?!?!?

Sorry, I just had to vent about that even though I know that most on here are not those complaining.
