I'd be interested to see what happens to American television when companies like Apple blow huge sums of money on shows that have no obligation to compete in terms of ROI.

Apple can easily afford to blow absurd amounts of money on an above-average-yet-mostly-forgettable show (The Morning Show cost 15 Million per episode, contrasted with Breaking Bad's last season's 3 Million per ep), without any pressure to be competitive.

The podcast on the real incident was fascinating and disturbing in equal parts; I am curious to see if this series will strike a similar tone. Whether or not it’s played as a comedy, Will Ferrell is a great choice.

Apple is trying to buy their way in, just sign big name actors and combine them into a tv show, that will make people join our streaming service.

Do you think a better approach would be to hire inexperienced actors with no track record?

Yes. Given that he’s very successful I’d think that answer would’ve been obvious. I’m guessing what you actually meant was that you don’t, plus a bit of “who’s with me?”.
I wanted validation to boost my self-confidence. 🥺

You mean like the cast of Friends, Sienfield, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Sopranos, Lost, Desperate Housewives?... yes
