As noted on Reddit, Apple recently released a new batch of underwater screensavers for the Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD.

The new screensavers showcase marine life and ecosystems, ranging from dolphins off the coast of Costa Rica to coral reefs in the Red Sea near Egypt. Other additions display moon jellyfish off the coast of Alaska, waves breaking on the shores of Tahiti, golden cownose rays off the coast of Mexico, and more.

Apple TV displays a screensaver after it has been idle for a short period. To change the number of minutes before a screensaver starts, go to Settings > General > Screen Saver and select Start After. You can also start a screensaver at any time by pressing the Menu button on the Siri Remote while on the tvOS home screen.

A tap on the Siri Remote provides information on where a screensaver was filmed, while a swipe left or right will change the location of the screensaver that is displayed if multiples have been downloaded.

New screensavers can be downloaded daily, weekly, or monthly via Settings > General > Screen Saver > Download New Video. While it is not possible to choose a specific screensaver on the Apple TV, 9to5Mac's Benjamin Mayo maintains a website that showcases all of the available scenes.

I knew about tapping to reveal the location, but I wasn’t aware of the swiping. That’s a pretty cool feature that I don’t think many people know of.

Question is does the latest tvOS update actually let you permanently turn Ariel screensavers off? Mine just keeps turning back on on all 3 Apple TV’s and long thread on Apples forum about this.

Personally I think the jellyfish one is yuck, and it keeps coming back on! Thanks Apple for the lack of choice.

Hate the yellowy-green murky-looking jellyfish one, and that's the one I usually end up with. I want some of these deep blue ones, or the space ones. How do I pick the one I want?

These new ones are great. I'd pay a buck or two to get them to show up when I want.

I actually like these, and appreciate the effort from Apple. That said, with all of their billion$ sitting around it sure would be nice if they put as much effort into adding capabilities to the TV. Add true multi-user support! Add camera support so we can FaceTime from the living room sofa! The list goes on and on, but nothing ever changes.

Noticed the humpback whale screensaver a couple evenings ago - awesomely cool!

I wish there was a way to make a favourite list. Some I love and some I hate

Someone's already pointed you to Aerial, which does exactly what you want. Be warned, though - these are videos and can use a LOT of space, if you choose to download them all.

I think by now they could at least sort them into collections to turn on/off, like underwater, cities/architecture, space, landscapes. That's really all I care for as far as customization goes.

there’s already a setting for this. You can go in your settings and switch on and off certain categories.

My daughter wants to know what kind of dolphins those are in the screensaver. Does anyone know?

Wondering myself. The triangular dorsal (top) fin is very unique and reminds me alot of a spinner dolphins (which have that characteristic I believe) although I don't know if that is what they are.

How is "true" multi-user support different from multi-user support? Because the latest already has it.

As for a camera, you can bet that would open a huge can of worms. Consumers already have a ton of FaceTime camera options. I'm sure Apple is being conservative for a reason.

As for nothing changes, bull dung.

Beautiful. OS/2 Warp 4 had such an underwater screensaver back in 1996, too. Even with whales.
