Can we choose which screensavers we have please? There are some great ones, but I almost always end up with the weaker ones.
I love the cityscapes, they are beautiful. But the space and underwater screensavers are not it, so boring.

I actually like these, and appreciate the effort from Apple. That said, with all of their billion$ sitting around it sure would be nice if they put as much effort into adding capabilities to the TV. Add true multi-user support! Add camera support so we can FaceTime from the living room sofa! The list goes on and on, but nothing ever changes.

The people that design these are probably the same people who sit around and make the emojis that "everyone" loves........shrug. Valuable use of resources.

These are professional photographers contracted by Apple.

Here's a lollipop. Be happy, eh?

I greatly appreciate Apple's effort to capture the world in 4K and deliver to imagery to millions of households around the world... for free! These captures are a great way to show the people the world that we are destroying with our industry.

there’s already a setting for this. You can go in your settings and switch on and off certain categories.

Where?? Not for the aerial screensavers there isn't. PLEASE prove me wrong as there are some screensavers I absolutely hate and some that I really like. No clue why Apple doesn't allow us to pick our favorites.

The Bump-head Parrot Fish one looks absolutely STUNNING on my 75" 4K TV, especially in a mostly darkened room. I had wanted a way to display it at will. Now, thanks to learning about the swipe to change function I can do that. By the way the swipe works on the remote app as well as the actual remote. Now if I could find a way to delete the ones I don't care for...

This would be so welcomed! It feels like the same macOS screensavers have been around since for more than a decade.
Aside from "we're busy doing other stuff", I suspect there are two reasons why Apple hasn't ported these itself:

One, they're quite big, and on tvOS Apple is mostly in charge of fitting what can fit in memory and purging code and data resources of less-used things (which can be reloaded from Apple as needed), while on the Mac, many users have much less free space and wouldn't appreciate the system eating huge chunks of it.

Two, since they're quite big, they eat up a lot of bandwidth to download. Apple can pretty reasonably assume that a running AppleTV is on some sort of broadband connection, where downloading a few gigabytes at any time is somewhat reasonable. On a Mac, on the other hand, users may get somewhat upset if they're on a low-bandwidth WiFi connection in a coffee shop and their Mac decides to download a gigabyte or two of screensavers (and any schedule you can think of for alleviating this problem wouldn't apply to everybody).

Solve those two, and you're back to it being probably pretty low on the to-do list (since pretty screensavers are a legit selling point for the AppleTV, while for the Mac they can come across as a waste of batteries).

In the meantime, several here have posted the link to the "Apple TV Aerial Screensaver for Mac" on GitHub - that's a way to do it now (was coming in here to post it myself).

White remote, get rid of touch pad, a12X, $129 price.
Please don't get rid of the TouchPad, I quite like it. It's very intuitive to use (as in, don't have to think about it). Making the remote white (or, hell, bright red) wouldn't hurt - and would fit with Apple's white accessories theme - but I suspect they'd balk at having the remote and ATV be different colors.

I'd like them to keep the same control layout (maybe add a mute button if people really want it), but make the casing a little larger and more rounded/ergonomic. The super-thin slab of glass and metal is "elegant" but it's stupidly hard to pick up off a table. When it's in a Griffin SurvivorPlay case (long since discontinued, and far superior to the cheap silicone cases on Amazon), it's much more comfortable to hold, easier to pick up, and easier to orient in the hand. Putting Apple's Remote Loop on it also makes it easier to orient, and thus equipped, it's my favorite remote. But, I shouldn't have to wrap it up in accessories to make it usable.

Oof I may be wrong. I’m not home with my Apple TV so I may be thinking of the settings for the photos sections. Sorry if I got your hope up.

This.

That would be an absolute winner

Come on! Stop being a cheap skate. It's insulting wanting the A12X chip in a product for 129.
People are getting greedy and I don't like it. Save hard for something that is beautiful made, built and updated monthly. All of those things cost money. If you don't want to pay there rather decent 179, then buy a crappy Amazon or Android product. I guarantee the experience will be poor and you'll miss the polished Apple experience.
A TOM FORD product will never be the price of a H&M piece and an Apple product will never be the price of a poor Amazon design.

Apple does not do cheap. It's aim in everything is to offer a beautiful user experience for many years. The Apple TV 4K just like the HD model and the 3 and 2 before that do that very very well.

If you want cheap, please shop elsewhere. I'd rather have quality from my all in one media centre.

How is "true" multi-user support different from multi-user support? Because the latest already has it.

As for a camera, you can bet that would open a huge can of worms. Consumers already have a ton of FaceTime camera options. I'm sure Apple is being conservative for a reason.

As for nothing changes, bull dung.

Yes, you can “switch users”, but that only works for media. Doesn’t apply to anything else. My wording was perhaps poorly chosen, but from my perspective SWITCH USER should change everything to that user.

Also, there’s nothing quick about the process.

OK, so how do I download a new screensaver? I have only one or my Apple TV 4K. No downloads have ever taken place. Yes, I'm running tvOS 13.3.1. Thanks.

I haven’t updated my Apple TV to tvOS 13 yet, but an wondering, will it still keep my flyover screensaver as well? As in will I have both or just the new underwater ones?

Would you buy a 4K box right now? I’m itching to upgrade from my 3rd generation as it appears to be getting glitchy. But my usual luck will see a new one will come out just as my return period expires. It happened before!

Honestly for the price I'd just get one now. If a new one comes out you can always sell the 4k box (even sell the 3rd gen as parts too for a few bucks) to recover some of your money. There are no rumors of a new box, and the soonest it will come is March, but that's unlikely.
