For whatever reason it seems Apple changed the way home sharing works to require internet before iTunes will serve any movie you have on your local hard drive.

My pet peeve at the moment is say my internet connection goes down for whatever reason then I am no longer able to watch content I have LOCALLY on my ATV. I can browse through it all I want on the ATV but when I hit play it won't play the movie UNLESS I have active internet, otherwise it will sit there with a spinner like its loading... Emphasis on the LOCAL CONTENT 😛

I filed a bug with Apple and they appear to have changed the support documents to say active internet is require... (So I reckon that's an f-u lol)

Long story short, has anyone here began looking into how Home Sharing works or know anyone who does? I am pretty sure I'm going to start looking into how it works and maybe remove that internet requirement on my own, but if someone has already familiarized themselves with it that would save some trouble.

Thanks
