I'm flummoxed.
I have a Windows gaming desktop at home along with my Macbook Pro. My Windows desktop is what holds the vast majority of my stuff because it has far more storage space than my MBP.
I purchased AirParrot 2 with the hopes of streaming movies from my Windows PC to my Apple TV in the other room. I have the Apple TV set up to transmit all audio to the Homepod, and it works flawlessly in pretty much any situation, except this one.
AirParrot 2 connects to the Apple TV just fine, and begins playing the movie. The problem is that I HAVE NO AUDIO THROUGH MY HOMEPOD despite the Apple TV still being set up to send audio through it. My TV speakers are beyond crappy, the room is big, and I'm hard of hearing, so simply using my TV speakers ain't gonna work. I would think that AirPlay 2 is easily capable of accommodating this type of streaming. Theoretically, shouldn't my Apple TV send all audio through the audio source of my choosing, even if the the audio and video are coming via Airplay AND the speaker is connected via Airplay?
Anyone else dealt with this? Is it a bug? Is it not possible? I'm pulling my hair out over this.
