I have Apple TV along with an iMac. I mainly use it to mirror my iMac. I have movies or tv shows on my iMac. And instead of watching it on there, I mirror to my Apple TV. Never had an issue. Audio would come out of my tv as well when mirriorig.

Earlier this week, I tried to connect to my Apple TV to mirror. When I did the first step, to connect it on my iMac, I noticed a number 2 popped up next to Apple TV. So now it says: apple tv(2)

Not sure why the number 2 popped up? But I continued. It would mirror like normal, visually. But the sound wasn't coming from my television?? It was coming from my computer?

Very annoying beCause I didn't change any settings?

Thoughts anyone??

Anyone know why that number 2 popped up? And why audio isn't being played from my television???

Number 2 ought to indicate, that there are 2 devices registered on your Bonjour network with the same name.
You could use e.g. Bonjour Browser to see what names are registered and what IP addresses do they have.
Re audio and number 2 - have you tried to restart your computer lately?
