Is there any hacks to alter the initial ATV2 home screen on ios5? I want the movie covers that scroll across the top to link to netflix. Possible?

Well, the current firmware hasn't been jailbroken yet (at least for the 
TV), so probably not. Once that happens, maybe, but the likelyhood of that being a priority for the devs is slim to none, so you'd have to do the work yourself.

There has been a tethered jailbreak for the latest firmware for some time (ATV2 only). A untethered version was released a couple of days ago.
