Hi There.

I just got an Apple TV 160GB. I used ATV Flash - bought it cause I couldn't be arsed doing it all myself. So I can put all my XVID on there and I am unlikely to buy much using iTunes movies so I can use all that space for XVIDS.

Now, I have a huge iTunes library (about 80GB). I would hate to have iTunes copy all that to the Apple TV. My Mac is on and powered 24/7 so I don't want to copy it all over. Is there no way I can stream my iTunes library to the Apple TV? There is only music in it. If so - will this work even if iTunes isn't loaded on my computer or would iTunes have to be open all the time?

Thanks.

Yes you can stream, no need to put any music on your ATV. You would need to have itunes on and apple tv selected as the output in itunes..bottom right button i believe. Yes you would then need to have itunes on/open in the background.
