Apple TV Keyboard

I noticed in my notifications I have an app called "Apple TV Keyboard" I am assuming somehow I can use my phone keyboard as a keyboard for Apple TV,

How is this done?

It pops up automatically when your ATV4 (on the same network) encounters a text input field.
