Apple TV+ Musical Comedy 'Schmigadoon!' Debuting July 16

If the story-teller has only 6-episodes worth of story to tell right now, it‘s better not to release an extra 6 or 12 episodes full of filler and garbage.

True, and I get that, but there seems to be ONLY that type of short-series releasing on ATV+ sadly. Plus, the vast majority haven’t gotten renewed for second or third seasons so we’re stuck with the story-teller’s mere 6 episodes.

Maybe that’s all the story they had in them. And it seems to me that most of the series have been renewed for second seasons. Which 6-episode series have not been renewed?

Honestly, I think the world needs more mini-series told well than shows that outstay their welcome. "Designated Survivor" would have been a great six-episode drama and instead it limped along well beyond its original premise to become Just Another Political Drama.

I don't understand why Apple puts out their new seasons in the summer when I'm outside.

Like, I have a long cold Canadian winter to deal with. Put stuff out in November!

Also, I will give this new series a shot as I have a soft spot for musical parody shows like Once More With Feeling from Buffy and that Galavant show.

I'm assuming most of these premieres were planned for winter but the pandemic pushed everything back 6-12 months.

Unless they extend them again lol. IDK the past couple months have been worth paying for it to me even though they have been giving the $4.99 Apple TV+ portion of my Apple One bundle back to me. I enjoyed watching Palmer and Cherry and Season 2 of For All Mankind. Plus the Mythic Quest special episode.

Well my biggest one is defending Jacob. But looking it up I guess some of the others came late! Trying, Tehran, See, Home Before Dark to name a few. It looked like there wasn’t going to be a renewal, but out of the blue there was. Here’s to hoping the creator releases a new book or allows the directors to go out on their own for Defending Jacob, as the series nearly covered everything in the author’s book already.
