Is it possible to connect my Apple TV to the new Apple Display? On the back of the apple tv there's a USB and component/composite holes.

Find a male HDMI to female Mini DisplayPort adapter and report back.

Not easily. The 24" monitor has a minidisplay port only; so far, there are no adapters aftermarket yet.

    There isn't one, though.

LOL I realized that and edited it back out. Wishful thinking. I was thinking backwards from the new MB/P/A

I'm sure there is a sweatshop in China working on it...

There isn't. HDMI/DVI to DisplayPort adapter isn't trivial, it requires an active circuitry. In fact, I will bet we will never see one.
