My Apple TV just updated tonight. Now when I hold the TV button I have to navigate over to Power Off. This no longer turns my TV off like it has for the past 3 years. Am I missing something in the new settings? I didn’t change anything on my TV. I can’t imagine Apple did away with the HDMI CEC features. It turns the tv on with no problem. But not off.

I fixed it. After poking around more online I found a lot of people, specifically with LG TVs, who needed to reenable the HDMI CEC controls on the tv menu. I don’t know how on earth the Apple TV updating would disable it, but that was my problem. It works now. I did not have the same issue on my Vizio tv in my bedroom. I haven’t checked my garage tv yet, but that’s a Vizio also. Very odd.
