Apple TV not showing in remote app

Hello,

I have 2 ATV's. My older version is always there when I open remote. My latest generation never does until I fire it up and turn home sharing off and then on again which is a PITA. Does anyone have a fix? I tried to find a thread with no luck. Thanks for looking!

I had the same problem, but I went through turning it off in the app, the TV and iTunes and by reactivating on all and it's been no problem since.

Are you also having AirPlay problems? I had a similar issue and it eventually turned out to be a router issue; its firmware wasn't playing nicely with IPv6. Another firmware update sorted the issue out.

I'm using an Airport Extreme 5th Gen as my router but who knows if that was interfering - it certainly didn't help during the discoveryd fiasco causing all the "AppleTV (2)" "AppleTV (3)" "AppleTV (4)" ... issues
