I updated my Apple TV last night and the Home app on my Macbook says Software update required?

I had similar issues with one of my kids' Homepods. Even after updating my phone and his Homepod mini, the Home app stated I could not set alarms until it was updated. I didn't check again until after I updated all my other devices, but once everything was on 18, the message went away, and I could access the alarms.

Had the same problem. I fixed it by unplugging all my Home hubs and then plugging the ATV in first.

I think the problem happened when I renamed my Apple TV since it reverted to the old name after I did this and I could then choose it as the default.

I pinged Apple support, rebooting the Mac fixed it! Then the iPhone showed the same message, rebooting that solved that one as well!!
