Some questions I can’t seem to get the Genius’ to answer at the store:

1) I just placed my hundreds of physical cd’s into iTunes – if I use Airdrop to play these from my Mac device to my stereo/tv will it only play those songs purchased through iTunes or anything I have in iTunes?

2) Due to the age of my Denon stereo rec’vr, 10 yrs old, I have no HDMI ports. So I will be using HDMI from Apple TV box to my new tv and the optical audio from Apple TV to my Denon – because I am using AirDrop what is the sound quality like?

1. It will play anything in your music library.

2. Optical is still digital, so it will be the same quality.

Do I need to have a MacBook to stream wirelessly from iTunes to AppleTV OR can I stream also wirelessly from my Windows laptop, via iTunes, to Apple TV...?

Basically AirDrop is for sharing files between devices and AirPlay is for streaming audio/video from one device to another. I believe takeshi74 was just correcting your terminology to avoid confusion as to what you were attempting to accomplish.

😕 I can not understand what you said?can you describle detailedly

You were previously saying AirDrop. But you actually meant AirPlay.

Ignore the term/word AirDrop, it has no relevance to this discussion. Nor does it have anything to do with anything that is AppleTV.
