It took me a bit to figure out the problem, but I finally "caught it in the act". When I use the Apple TV (3rd Gen) remote, it will occasionally change the TV channel causing it to switch from the HDMI input to the TV Tuner. Really annoying, especially since the TV remote is button laden and usually requires me to turn the light on to find the right button.

I tried to find something about this on Google, but didn't have any luck. What I mostly found was discussions of an Apple TV remote interfering with a MacBook (

Anyone have a situation like this or have any ideas for a solution?

Can you move the apple tv away from the tv? That what i did,
and disable remote on the mac mini and mba

Not a bad thought, but given that they are both wall mounted, I don't really have any place to go. Never had any issues with the old TV (except the backlight was getting glitchy). Starting to regret replacing it! The TV is only used for the Apple TV, so it may be time to upgrade to a 4th Gen and use the HDMI power up and the Apple remote.
