I have an Apple TV HD that I hooked up in my garage to a new-ish 40” Vizio TV. The Apple TV remote turns the TV on, but it does not turn it off when you use the sleep all connected devices option. This works on both of the TVs in my house, one a new 75” LG and the other a 60” Vizio that is at least 6 years old. Am I missing something?

how are you controlling it?
via HDMI or IR? (quick way to check is change volume with the remote covered, if it works it's HDMI, if not it's IR)

if IR you need to have the remote pointed at the TV to make it work

You want HDMI if your TV supports it.

You may have to enable HDMI-CEC in the TV. (following is from the Roku site, I can't verify if it works or not)

Vizio (CEC)

  • CEC steps:
    1. Press the MENU button on your Vizio remote.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select CEC.
    4. Use the arrow buttons on your remote and set CEC Function to Enable.

That did it. Thank you! I guess it was enabled by default on my other TVs.
