YES!!! Really excited for more!! Excellent comedy series!! Outclassed by Ted Lasso obviously, but then again, name me one other comedy in 2020 that wasn't outclassed by Ted Lasso. Trying was a great pick-me-up comedy series and was quite funny as well, in my opinion. Very likeable cast and compelling storyline.

Do you think Apple is even going to put scary shows on Apple TV+?
Watch Calls. I almost hid behind my couch and I'm only 3 episodes in. Freaky stuff. I had nightmares for hours last night. Thanks Apple for keeping me from sleep until 3AM and ruining my entire work day.

The best I can say without spoiling the reveal is that what makes Jaws and Jurassic Park so terrifying is that you rarely saw the sharks/dinos in the early parts of the movie. Similar vibe in Calls. What you can't see is scarier than what you can.

It is very well made and the quality of the production is high. It was nothing for me though and I just gave up after a couple of episodes. But hey we're all different and there is a lot of stuff on other streaming services I would never watch, which others like :)

Ah no wonder Apple TV+ has no viewers. They could break streaming records if they just made a decent (or any at all) action/sci-fi/fantasy flick/series.
Ted Lasso was a 4th most watched streaming show on any platforms just last week.

(and Billie Ellish documentary just broke TV+ records a couple of weeks ago as well)

but no, continue the boring housewife comedies Apple.

I mean... Apple TV+ does have viewers but the main thing holding it back right now is content and they clearly are happy to grow slowly while they build up a catalogue of entirely original work of their own, which takes time.

I don't know what kind of show you expect them to get that would suddenly 'break streaming records' seeing as the shows of recent years that have broken streaming records that fit your description are maybe The Mandalorian and Wandavision, which aren't really applicable because they're series set in the most successful movie universes of all time. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a single sci fi series that's been a mega-hit over the past five years that's actually been completely original content. There have been several garbage sci fi shows on Netflix that have mostly failed after a season. The Expanse, I guess, but while it's a very popular show with a vocal fan base, it's still being axed three seasons early unfortunately likely because the viewing numbers aren't good enough for Amazon to justify the cost. Still, Apple has For All Mankind, one of the best shows of the decade but from the way you've been talking, I'd hazard a guess that it's too grown up for you. Of course, there's Foundation coming too later this year.

Having been there and got the badge I'd say that Trying is one of the best dramas featuring the adoption process I've ever seen. It's been incredibly well researched, the process is understood, the nuances are captured and irony abounds. Really looking forward to seeing how the story line develops - because the reality just gets harder.

Ah yes, I watched all of it. But still a mediocre show.

I doubt Ted lasso broke any charts, I’m calling you out for proof

Apple is completely dependent on original content. which makes it anemic compared to Netflix/Hulu/Amazon/Disney/HBO which carry original content and older movies/series. Which can be in the thousands.
All you get with apple is apple shows. And they all kinda suck. I’m being a critic of course, I only like shows that make me binge the entire series. So far, binge worthy content doesn’t exist.

Apple should cater content to the genre that is most watched/acclaimed.

90% on Rotten Tomato. That only shows you’re out of touch with reality.

Why would I lie about that?
Not only that, but its popularity doesn't seem to be going anywhere. According to the streaming aggregator, Realgood, Ted Lasso was thefourth-most-watched show on any streaming service last week

Btw, just watched 2nd ep. of Trying and I think I even like this one more than Ted Lasso (which I have re-watched and enjoyed a few times now). The details are so good and it's fun and intimate which is rare.

Thanks for the sources. I’ll give trying a try. And sure, I did enjoy Ted lasso, but my god, it’s far from amazing. It’s like a 7.99 out of 10. I want 10/10’s damnit. Saving Jacob was great though.

You mean "Apple should cater content to the genre that I want and anything else is a waste of time". Honestly, you sound like that obnoxious person on facebook that would just say "NEXT" all the time. It's like you cannot understand the idea that your personal preferences don't line up with what other people think and that your opinions *must* be those of 'most' people.

Why do you feel the need to get personal and hyper analyze my preferences?
