Is it not possible to set content restrictions for each user account on a single Apple TV device?

I'm the organizer for our family group, which has three accounts/users: me, my wife, and one I've recently created for our 3-year-old son. Would love to be able to enable Restrictions and content control on the Apple TV tied to the three-year-old's user account, but then have restrictions turned off for myself and my wife. And have them switch/carryover when you switch between user accounts.

It seems like every family would want this kind of basic functionality, and yet it doesn't seem to be how Apple TV handles these things.

Am I wrong / missing something obvious? Thanks!

From what I can tell enabling restrictions applies them to all profiles, upon playing content outside of the restriction it will ask you to enter your passcode.

Thanks. That’s my experience too.

It seems like being able to have restrictions and preferences turn on/off with each user account should be pretty basic stuff. Especially for a streaming box which is still the most expensive and particularly since many of us are also paying monthly sub fees to Apple.

that would mean when switching accounts you would have to enter the accounts' password, right? Bit of an inconvenience.
