What a horrible tease to get everyone excited and then the date is still over half a year away. January?! Seriously?! Ugg. I suspect most people were expecting September or at least the fall.

Apple is clearly behind even their own schedule for a lot of things. Basically everything they announced this year is coming next year at the earliest. It’s almost like they took on too many large, distracting, dead end projects…

Oh well, all this tells me is to wait until late March to buy one month of ATV+.

This is how all these streaming services operate. One season of 8-13 episodes, then a multi-year wait before the next season.

Meanwhile "regular" TV consistently pumps out 20-24 episodes every year.

Edit: I'm not saying they should make tons of filler episodes, but waiting so long in between each season kills momentum and makes it harder to remember what happened in previous seasons.

Back in The Steve Era he would wonder out on Stage, there would be a bit of an Intro and Then BOOOM 🎉 some Pure Magic would be revealed, fully designed ready to ship and power on......

The critically-acclaimed workplace thriller "Severance" returns to Apple TV+ early next year, according to a teaser video released today.

Apple-TV-Plus-Severance-Season-2.jpg

Apple said the 10-episode season will premiere on Friday, January 17, and then one episode will follow every Friday through March 21.

The sci-fi series revolves around the mysterious company Lumon Industries, whose employees cannot recall any memories about their personal lives while they are at work. Similarly, the employees cannot remember anything about the workplace when they are out of the office. The show was created by Dan Erickson, and it has an ensemble cast starring Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Christopher Walken, and others.

The first season of Severance ended in April 2022, so fans will have waited around 33 months for the second season, which faced production delays for seven months last year as a result of the Writers Guild of America going on strike.

Severance is one of the most popular shows on Apple TV+. In the U.S., the streaming service costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year following a price increase last October, and it is included in all Apple One subscription bundles.

That's cool, I guess.

When are new episodes of Silo, Foundation, and For All Mankind coming?

Three years between seasons is brutal. Streaming has destroyed TV entertainment. Sure, there's more options, but you have to subscribe, the seasons are short, and the gap between seasons is so long I just don't care.

And it seems the better the show, the worse this is. When they know they have a hit they REALLY milk it. Dripping out three episodes at a time, one per week, two or times a year with a year or more between seasons.

See basically everything AMC / Robert Kirkman has ever done.

I guess I'm just dumb, but why so long? It's been shot, recorded, edited, produced. Why wait even longer? It's an apple show, what is keeping them from putting it up on their streaming service?
Because it's LITERALLY not done...? Multiple industry strikes and setbacks, they aren't just holding it arbitrarily, come on...

Which good tv shows „regularly pump out 20+ episodes per season in a timely manner“? I’m seriously interested.

Since these "new" releases happen about every 33 months, maybe the sensible thing to do with AppleTV is subscribe for a few months, watch what is on, then cancel for 2 years and subscribe again ofter 24 short months.

Tim Cook should hang his head in shame for this service and the limited content. The cost should be $5 per month at most given what available.

I am not sure what all the hoopla is about. I tried getting into about five different times. I think I saw two episodes but whatever floats your boat. The standout show on Apple TV for me is Foundation.
Well, you gave it your best. You'll just be on the outside for this one.

If only there were some procedure or device that would let me forget about this show until just before Season 2 starts.

Or better yet, just before Season 2 ends, so I can binge watch the entire thing.

Crazy idea, I know.

OMG FINALLY.

January though??? September would’ve been nice. like others said I will rewatch in December.

the ending was INSANE.

also… the teaser is not very good. I don’t even know who the lady is that said “you should’ve left”. I won’t judge it by that though. and 10 episodes?! nice.

Excited for season 2. But not happy with the very long wait between seasons.

I remember way back when films and TV shows were recorded on plastic ribbons and trailers were informative.
I remember way back when you could only watch A Charlie Brown Christmas at Christmas with commercials, and films were either at the theater or whatever the networks were showing. And sometimes trailers just tease, especially for a returning show.
