The first few episodes of most shows are usually mediocre before they find their footing. There’s so many examples I can list but just to name one: Seinfeld. Critics haaaaated the first season.

Even one of the reviewers said The Morning Show was showing glimpses of hope in the third episode.

Shrugs. Not surprised. Given how scattered and sloppy Apple are with hardware & software now, and the reports from Hollywood that Apple did not know what they wanted in their original content, you have these shows.

Not interested in AppleTV+, so I'll eventually look into Disney+ as more SW & Marvel content is added.

I think the issue with The Morning Show is that the subject matter is simply not interesting if you're not into Hollywood politics or are tired of it. The reviewers are probably trying to play it down for now. It's hard to imagine what crazy twists and turns will surprise viewers that are interested in this subject.

You seem to have judged this show before having seen any more than the pilot. It’s obvious that you’re afraid of a show about gender politics because it threatens you somehow?
Really no need for you to try and provoke or pick a political fight with someone in a forum where it doesn’t belong. Maybe you can’t help yourself? We’ll let the moderators sort it out.

I would be taking these reviews with a grain of salt. It seems that not all the episodes have been reviewed, plus, shows will appeal to different audiences. Everyone has their own perspective. Personally my favourite 6 are:
  1. The Good Place
  2. Travellers
  3. Man in the High Castle
  4. Sherlock
  5. Murdoch Mysteries
  6. Frankie Drake Mysteries
Fave movies include Hidden Figures, Imitation Game, MCU, SW, Interstellar, Us, Get out, Supertroopers 2, Dumb and Dumber 2, Night School, Joker, Jojo Rabbit... the point is that many of these choices will only appeal to a certain type of audience, and someone else who is a reviewer/critic may not appreciate everything a show offers...So try it out for yourself.

It’s easy to be critical of this (I am) but it’s important to keep in mind apple’s real motive here. Selling channels.

Giving away subs with hardware purchases helps this as well. Apple doesn’t really need a game of thrones. They just need the content interesting enough to get you to engage the atv app.

Netflix is a cash burner. But Netflix doesn’t have its own App Store with a billion+ customers to sell and gain 15/30% of competitors services either.

Apple does. And that’s something critics fail to acknowledge much when they start taking about how pathetic atv is vs the likes of Disney. Apple already wins when people use iTunes to pay the Disney sub.

Not always for everyone. Sometimes it takes me a few episodes to care and get involved with the characters. And sometimes, like in GOT, there's so much going on it passes by and im like, what just happened lol.

Breaking Bad was another series that took me a few episodes to realize, wow, this is good.

Very much agree with Breaking Bad, but that is another good example of a show not taking off until multiple seasons were available. Once it hit Netflix it really took off.

High hopes for “See” and “For All Man Kind”... a little concerned about all the TV-MA (18+) content tho 🙁.
