The second season of Apple TV+ series "The Morning Show" will have elements that reflect the current real-world situation, "The Morning Show" actor Mark Duplass told Deadline.

Duplass, who plays producer Chip Black, said the show is currently in rewrites to reflect the "current global situation."
"We shot two episodes before we shut down due to the pandemic, but I know that they're also rewriting, which is crazy because that's what happened in the first season. They had a whole set of scripts [then] and they rewrote everything to include the #MeToo movement, and now we've got other, larger, global phenomenon to deal with. I don't know what they're doing but I know they're rewriting."
"The Morning Show" received eight Emmy nominations this week, including best actor in a drama series for Steve Carell and best actress in a drama series for Jennifer Aniston. Duplass also received a nomination for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series.

Duplass said that even though some of his co-stars such as Reese Witherspoon and Gugu Mbatha-Raw did not receive Emmy nominations, they "all put in great performances."

There's no word on when the second season of "The Morning Show" will air, and Duplass said he has no insight into when the series might be back in production after coronavirus delays. Filming on Apple TV+ shows and other shows has been paused due to widespread outbreaks in Los Angeles and other cities across the United States.

NOOOO, I watch TV and movies to get away from the real world albeit even for a moment. I don’t need to start seeing shows to relive what we are currently still living in.
Reality has a way of shadowing you no matter where you may hide.

I never made it through season 1. The constant foul language got old really quick.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are both executive producers, both lead actresses, both nominated for Golden Globes, and reportedly paid the same amount per episode. So it's ironic that they play a pair of women who are mostly at odds with each other.

I'm looking forward to Season 2.

I woudn't mind including the pandemic stuff as long as there's no "people who don't wear masks are murderers" type of stuff.

I liked the first season, it was a high-point in an otherwise uninspiring Apple TV lineup.

It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they are going to write about. It will probably regurgitate the same topics the US is going through today but in Hollywood form.

My question is why does everything have to be so political? TV is supposed to be entertainment and I don’t find watching a show about a pandemic and sexual-harassment to be entertaining.

You don’t have to watch it. It’s certainly a heavy show at times. But that’s not the show’s fault; something can be both entertaining and thought-provoking.

I worry this won’t age well.

Will future bingers really want to revisit this time? I think we’ll all be glad to never see a face mask again, no matter if we love or hate them now.
I don’t know about others but, I have no desire to relive this Covid era, provided I am still alive post Covid. If I were to relive this era, I want to come back as a super hero.

Was “See” not eligible? The only show that I have actually liked on the service.
