Congrats.
I just unsubscribed – Apple TV offers soooo little, compared to most other streaming services.
100% this. I watched a couple of series but then struggled to find anything else. I don't know if it's a lack of content or a poor interface, or both, but I really struggle with Apple TV+ and won't be renewing. The interface is a reflection of everything Apple at the moment. They're telling you it's a great design, it's clean, it's easy, but the reality is that it's just not very user friendly. The remote is probably the best example of this, but I see it through every product these days.

I haven't watched TV or Movies in years... they just don't speak to me any more. And I usually avoid TV just so I don't have to be depressed by the propaganda on News or adverts. Like having an ad blocker since forever, then going to a fresh install and seeing the internet without one.... my god it's so bad lol.

It is just all Youtube channels for me now, any Harald Baldr fans? lol.

I was a little hesitant when TV+ launched, but now I'm a fan! It was just something to get used to that there was a streaming service with shows nobody had seen before (as opposed to Netflix, Hulu and so on that have shows that were on TV years ago).

The only 'mistake' Apple made was to launch it with only a couple of shows and episodes of those shows available. They should have waited 3 months longer and launch it with more shows available from day one.

"They love me, they really love me!".....yes ATV+ is loved by critics circles and award show attendees. But it's wider appeal is suspect IMHO. I know that some others love ATV+ but I'm dubious, again, of tangible wide appeal. I assume Apple needs in the ballpark of 30 million paid subs to make it revenue neutral. I suspect their not close to that in paid subs.

I've mentioned this before (repetition is so repetitive) but Apple's wide appeal series (and the first series from the actual Apple Studio) is coming -- Masters Of The Air. 200+ million budget, Hanks/Spielberg-huge names producing it, probably highest res native filming, action-history-drama-comedy(the book is very good), a series that will appeal across multiple generations. If they can just get Band of Brothers numbers(number on HBO from 2001), ATV+ could add 10 million paying subscribers in just a few weeks (and be able to pitch to these new viewers a new iPhone, M2X laptops, Awatch 8 and! Pong: The Next Chapter' coming to Apple Arcade 😅)

I think part of the issue is that Apple TV+ isn't it's native app or website so there is confusion with where these shows are. Whenever my wife (who is my litmus test of a "regular person" when it comes to using Apple products and services) mentions to someone that we like For All Mankind, she says "it's on Apple TV". (No mention of the word "Plus".)

She's also was surprised to learn that Apple TV+ only contain Apple Originals, because she's seen other shows in the Apple TV app. I said it shows other things too, but I think that when it comes to the Apple TV+ brand, that is a hindrance more than a help.

Long Way Up is my comfort food. It's not all that exciting if you think about it. But it's like being with two good friends, riding together and explore. Sometimes, the destination is a dud but as they say, it's the journey, not the destination.

Ewan and Charley are just so darn likable.

Same thoughts here although I wasn’t as taken with the show this time around compared to the original one or the sequel show.

Not only do they know what time of day people watched it, but they also know where they were when they watched it. And probably a ton of other stuff too. Don't ask me the "how" part. :D

IP addresses?

Entertainment awards are the opinions of a small hand full of people. I suspect most are like J. D. Power awards, totally bought and payed for. These awards mean nothing to the average consumer. Heck, the movies that get the most Oscars are often some of the least grossing films because real people didn't care to watch them. I couldn't care less about an industry giving itself awards. Those are meaningless.

Yeah, me too. There were a couple good shows, but not worth the cost for me. I thought I'd get another year of free AppleTV+ with the purchase of the Apple TV 4K earlier this year, but apparently that doesn't fly when you're already on a free trail from last year. You can't piggyback the freebies, which I understand--you gotta pay eventually. But, when eventually came, it wasn't worth it.

Then compare premium versions so it’s fair.

You are correct. The fantastic home made content from Blippi and Linus Kids Channel and iJustine trump any streaming service that produce tv shows or movies. Plus, there’s a premium version where I can pay the money straight to the ad company so they no longer need to disrupt the viewing experience and can focus on the data mining.

oh yeah because the two you named are the only content on Youtube lmao..now I know you’re just trying to justify Apple TV. It’s ok.

My goodness the valuable content I have discovered on YouTube is priceless. Ive watched channels that have helped my career, helped me tackle home projects etc. and some of the best conversations I have ever listened to online like Lex Fridman podcasts things like that.

Apple TV is for lazy Apple customers that can’t find anything to watch themselves

The same was said about tv stations 20 years ago. The value to BS and noise ratio is wonderful on YouTube. Go out and enjoy your priceless channels. Do let us know what great movies or tv shows YouTube created themselves when you find any.

Its all about fake movies and filler tv shows? lmao god forbid someone actually prefers more creative content.

Well you dragged the DIY content brigade in here in here for comparison. By the same angle Netflix isn’t to your liking. Or Disney. Maybe these services are just not for you altogether as they are not creative enough.

Now back to the topic of Apple TV+ maybe?
