I wonder if anybody else has the same problem as I am now experiencing.

Over the last few weeks I have found that if we are watching a film via Apple TV, i.e. using the Apple TV box and selecting Apple TV on the television, every so often the sound goes and sometimes there is a momentary hang and then it starts again. If I watch anything else via the Apple TV box such as Netflix, Premier etc. there is no problem. It is only when watching an Apple TV production through the box. The Apple TV box is the latest, current, version. The OS is up to date. I have tried resetting but the problem does not go. It is as if there is a momentary buffering problem but my download speed is fine (909 Mbps).

Are you using Ethernet? If so, give it a try on WiFi.

I don’t have a particular reason why this might help, but it often does.

I’m on tvOS 18.6 and have the same issue with watching content from my iTunes library in the computers app. It started on one of the 18 updates. Never had this issue in tvOS 17. I’m hoping when they get the bugs out of tvOS 26 I’ll make the switch and it will be gone. Meanwhile… I wait.

I had a similar issue that was resolved when I replaced my HDMI cable with a new, high quality cable.

Update… I finally made the jump to tvOS 26.4 and the native playback engine no longer has issues. While troubleshooting, switching to WiFi made no difference and swapping hdmi cables didn’t either. It was a bug in tvOS that is now fixed.
