I might not be the target audience, but as much as I appreciate the vagueness of the teaser, I feel that something is missing to make them... teasing...
That might be two of the worst teaser trailers I've seen. Isn't the goal to make people want to watch the show?
I do think that is the goal of a teaser / trailer. For me, this totally worked. Most trailers are a short-version of the actual film - leaving little to discover when viewing the feature.
Unlike the standard, formulaic movie trailers that pretty much show viewers the whole story before even watching the actual feature, I found this teaser refreshingly unique and super effective, I was smiling the whole time the subject was walking away from camera - hoping that's all there was. Totally peaked my interest. I've earmarked 4/29.
I was disappointed thinking this sounded a little like "Haven," but now you've got me hoping there's elements of 'Reggie Perrin.'It might work. I mean, they got us to watch a guy on a beach walk away from the camera for 1 minute, right? 🤣
I bought a 4K Blu-ray player from Panasonic. Much better than this ****** Apple TV; the sound and picture are on a much higher level.
Apple has shared a mysterious teaser for Widow's Bay, a new horror-comedy series set to premiere on the Apple TV streaming service on Wednesday, April 29.

Widow's Bay is described as a "quaint island town 40 miles off the coast of New England," but apparently "something lurks beneath the surface."
The series stars Matthew Rhys as a mayor who is desperate to revive the struggling community.
"There's no Wi-Fi, spotty cellular reception and he must contend with superstitious locals who believe their island is cursed," Apple explains.
"Loftis is determined to build a better future for his teenage son and turn the island into a tourist destination," adds Apple. "Miraculously, he succeeds: tourists are finally coming. Unfortunately, the locals were right. After decades of calm, the old stories that seemed too ludicrous to be true, start happening again."
Apple says Widow's Bay blends genuine horror with character-driven comedy.
The first three episodes in the 10-episode season are set to premiere on Apple TV on Wednesday, April 29, and one additional episode will come out every Wednesday through June 17. The series is created and executive produced by Katie Dippold, and Hiro Murai directs five episodes this season, according to Apple.
In the U.S., Apple TV is priced at $12.99 per month or $129 per year, with a free one-week trial available for new subscribers. Apple TV is also included in Apple One and Peacock bundles, with all of the options outlined on Apple's website.
You can stream Apple TV in the Apple TV app, which is available on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K, Apple Vision Pro, Android, PlayStation, Xbox, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, select smart TVs, on the web at tv.apple.com, and more.

I just stack PMs and build Legos and go to baseball games.I miss the days of 22-24 episodes. As it stands, only having 10 episodes means we have to go into the real world and find actual hobbies and mingle with people.
Same. Loved The Americans! And the ending was one of the best I have ever seen. He's enough for me to add a show to my list. Enjoyed his work in The Americans, Perry Mason, and The Beast in Me.
The description also states that cell service is spotty, so no hot spot for you! Then again, there’s always Starlink…A place with no WiFi? Someone needs to tell the town folk about hot spotting.
I have no problem with 10 episode seasons when it’s a heavily serialized show, but the 2-year+ gap b/w seasons absolutely sucks.10 episodes, might be a banger, but now you have to wait two years for season 2 if it gets there. This new format of tv shows sucks.
or maybe a bit of Doc Martin as well.Looks like another show heavily inspired by Twin Peaks....
I was thinking the same thing. 😀WIDOW'S Bay. I literally read it as WINDOW'S Bay...horror...comedy...it made sense.
