I just got Apple TV and would like to know what kind of adapter I need to plug my Apple TV into the aux port on my speakers, this is the ONLY way I can do this.

Audio doesn't work on my TV & my speakers only have AUX

^+1 this. But your speakers must have its own volume control because the ATV doesn't.

Ok, I wasn't sure if that would work, would this product be what I want?

    http://www.amazon.com/HOSA-TOSLINK-...41701&sr=8-2&keywords=optical+audio+to+3.5+mm

    or

    http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Optic...ink+to+Analog+RCA+L/R+Audio+Converter+Adapter

Yes I have a Sony Sound System in my room due to the non functional TV audio (It has a volume control)

So if you could answer to this question, would the above item work?

    Thank you both!

Yes the above items should work. I use a Toslink to DD5.1 decoder and it works fine.

So if I got the first one, I could just plug one end into Apple TV and the other into my 3.5mm AUX jack right?

You need both items. One's an optical cable, the other is a DAC.
