I want to do a digital cable connection between atv and bw a7.

what sort of cable should I buy ? Does cable quality effect sound quality overall ?

You need an optical cable, with a 3.5mm adaptor to fit the A7.

Look for something this one in the Apple Store.

You can probably pick one up for around £5 if you shop around but is £15 really too much to pay to use with a £700 speaker?

A cheaper speaker will give reduced sound quality, but a cheaper cable will not have any affect on sound quality. Just a better build does bot make it worth 5 times more. Cable will be static.
