Hello there

I’m using tvOS 12.2 and I haven’t upgraded to tvOS 13. I’ve heard horrible feedback about it.
My main concern is about the remote. I despise the Apple TV 4K remote and I use my TV remote.

Is it possible to use my TV remote with tvOS 13? I read somewhere they changed the way to turn on the Apple TV and that’s a “change by design”.

I did not notice any change in behaviour of my TV remote after upgrading to tvOS 13.
I still use mainly my Bravia remote to command my AV system, including aTV.

I have a couple of 4K's on the latest and they work just fine. What are you worried about?

Which model is best?

Depends on your needs. How many devices do you need to control? Do you want a touch screen interface, or primarily buttons? Do the devices you want to control use IR? Will you need to have an IR repeater, such as when devices are in cabinets?

I got a Harmony Elite during last years Christmas sale. I love the fact that I don't have to point the remote at my devices to control them as it has an IR hub. Nice that it can be programmed via an IOS app. Hate that the touch screen area is so large. When I pick it up in the dark I keep hitting the activity buttons so have to wait for the unwanted activity startup to finish before I can get back to the activity which I was watching.

It replaced a failing Harmony One which is no longer available.
