Yes. Rumors both of it having 4K, and of it not having 4K.
We won't know for sure until Apple announces it.
As a home theater appliance, no way it would have mDP.

All the recent threads and news I've read is leaning towards the next version NOT having 4K capability. I wish it did!
I'm going to have to take a second look at Comcast's new X1 when it comes out. It is supposed to, according to Comcast, have 4K streaming or channel built in.
