Just updated and just now WWDC 2014 is avaliable on AT!

Enjoy the show everybody!

~ Cheers

That update isn't new. The Apple channel appears independent of which version of Apple TV software you're using.

Thanks for your reply. Strange, only after this update the WWDC channel appeared on my AT3. Does the location - I'm in The Netherlands - make any difference? I came from AT 6.0.2.

No, you just apparently happened to update at the same time Apple was making the channel available.

Just updated. It gave me the option to make the icons wiggle and rearrange/delete. Is that new?

Be sure to downgrade to 5.3 again once you are done with the streams if you use Netflix as 6.1.1 breaks 5.1 audio on Netflix. Also is a pretty dopey experience compared to 5.3, slow browsing, issues with encoded movies if you didn't select fast start etc.

The Netflix DD issue has been resolved (at least with all the content I'm watching). Thankfully no more having to AirPlay from my iphone.

There is still considerable lag in switching between videos/songs etc from the iTunes library, lots of spinning circle compared to virtually none on 5.3. Sometimes it just spins until you drop back and try again. On 5.3 it's almost instant.

This is connected via cat5 and tested with 3 Apple TV 2 boxes. There is also the buffering issue with videos encoded without quick start enabled.

Interesting. I guess I haven't noticed a difference in the speed. I wasn't focusing on it either however. I am running an ATV3.

Same issues on ATV3 too, there is a thread on it somewhere around the forums. Dunno what Apple did with the last update but it's fairly simple to drop back a version till they fix it 🙂
