I previously used an Apple TV on a Sony 3D TV for 8 years until I purchased a Sony X900H 4K 65” last year. This TV runs Android TV and it has all streaming apps including “Apple TV” app. I wonder if I should get the new Apple TV 4K. Does Apple TV have any benefits over Android TV based smart TV. Is it worth $200?

If you have a large iTunes library, an Apple box is the only way to view the iTunes extras and have auto frame rate switching.
I bought the Sony 950H last year. I also own the Apple TV HD, not 4K.
I tried using the Android TV for a while and yes, it can almost replace the ATV. It was pretty impressive actually. The ATV seemed smoother in operation.
Also, if you are worried about privacy, Google/Android tracking is more invasive than Apple's. I plan on getting the new ATV 4K and stepping away from the Android TV.
