I'm looking to create an audio room. Outside of the amp/receiver/speakers here are the bill of materials

- Apple TV (3rd Gen or later if October 21 rumor is correct)
- WD My Cloud for ALAC/Apple Lossless iTunes Library
- Macs numbering in 2-3
- iPhones numbering in 2-3
- iPad numbering in 2-3
- Android devices numbering in 2-3.

Questions

1) Will Apple TV be smart enough to use the iTunes Library in the WD My Cloud using the Macs, iPhones & iPad as remotes?

2) Any chance an Android device can make use of the Apple TV?

3) Any chance FLAC files can be used by an Apple TV?

4) Your thoughts on the Sonos Connect? Although a cross platform device it's almost 4x the price the Apple TV.

It might be possible to access iTunes music directly from the mycLoud, not sure. But you must have a Mac running iTunes if you want to access video. It would cost a bit more, but I would forget the myCloud and get a Mac Mini with a USB3 disk for your library. That will let you easily access all your music and video from the Apple TV and other Apple devices.

No idea what is needed for Android or your other questions, sorry.
