I worry that Apple will only have G and PG Rated original content and that they will try to avoid producing any content that is at a controversial in any way.

I could see that too, but I doubt they will make anything remotely like Game of Thrones or even Breaking Bad.

I bought an 9,7 inch iPad two days before the announcement of a free year. I haven't opened or set it up yet though. I wonder if if will count as bought on or after the 10th and give me year free.

That’s... exactly... what this does???

I can’t even get the app (UK based), not on my Samsung Smart Tv (under 2 years old) or 3rd generation Fire Device (15 months old) So, can’t use on TV currently and I don’t want to sit isolated at my iMac or iPad or iPhone. Very disappointing - all this promotional stuff but obviously a lacking of commitment from third parties - and I’m not spending £179 for an Apple TV box.
