For what you get, YouTube Premium is not reasonably priced
You get music streaming through YouTube music app, and no ads on videos.

Considering YouTube is my most used streaming service, it is a godsend for me.

If I ever watch a YouTube video on a friend's device, and am forced to sit through 3 ads my eye starts twitching

I never pay youtube one penny. Ad blockers work just fine on PC and Mac. I never ever see ads.

I found this thread when I was searching for a way to block YT ads on my Apple TV, and I have to say that the SwizzVPN app is stellar. I had some questions about it and exchanged a few emails with the developer to get some clarity. This is what I learned for future reference:

A single purchase ($49 per year) will implement the app on all Apple devices - Apple TV, Macs, iPhone, iPad (I don't know if it will work on Vision).

It also blocks ads on Apple News, Tumblr, New York Times, and any other stand-alone app that has advertising.

While I have implemented uBlock Origin to block ads on YT in Firefox, that is a constantly escalating war and there are often days when I have trouble with YT trying to block my usage. SwizzVPN has succeeded in blocking ads without interfering with streaming.

Downsides:

Like any VPN, some sites will not allow me to access content and I have to turn off the VPN (Why, Michaels?). But mostly, I've found it worth the $49 a year, it is easy to install and maintain and turn on and off as necessary. I give it a 5-star rating.

Interesting, I didn't know an app of this sort was available for Apple TV.

Well, considering I watch most of my content on YouTube, it's absolutely worth it. No ads anywhere. Also, why are so many people incensed that YouTube has ads or has a premium service? It's like people act like it's a slap in the face for them to DARE to try and make a buck. Ok, don't like ads...then pay for Premium. "OMG, NOT REASONABLY PRICED!"

So, people don't want to pay for it. And they don't want ads. They want YouTube to just host these massive amounts of data and stream them out to the world taking up tons of bandwidth...for free. The entitlement of people is mind blowing.
