It's basically a stripped down version of iOS.

Also, the Apple TV doesn't utilize storage the same way as iOS devices or computers. Apps take up much less space and download additional resources when needed.

Using Asphalt 8 as an example, no. When I downloaded it, it was about 90MB. As I unlock new levels and content, it has paused and downloaded new resources. When I checked the app size again later, it was still about 90MB.
