I have ATV4 and use 200mps but recently I changed internet providers for 63mps and my ATV4 plus my Freeview+ STB wouldn't work because neither would connect to the internet yet my other Apple Devices would an anyone explain please or does anyone have any ideas to this?

I am having a little trouble following what is going on.

Is this correct:
I have ATV4 and use 200mps
You have an Apple TV 4 (HD) and you had a 200Mbps download plan with your former ISP.

but recently I changed internet providers for 63mps
You changed your ISP for slower plan, which is 63Mbps (odd speed).

my ATV4 plus my Freeview+ STB wouldn't work because neither would connect to the internet
Your ATV4, and STB will now no longer connect to your network, or at least they do not have a internet connection since changing your ISP.

yet my other Apple Devices would
All your other devices will connect, except the two mentioned above.

Is everything I mentioned correct?

If so, I have some questions:
Did you change your networking equipment such as your router when switching ISPs?

Have you verified that your ATV and STB is connected to the correct network? My network goes out, like when I am restarting my router, my ATV sometimes connect to an unsecured networked or Hotspot offered by one of the ISPs in my area.

Have you restarted all of your equipment?

Yes everything correct in what you read and yes my router as changed because it seems that most ISPs here in the UK use their own brand and so I don't really have a choice Yes I did verify my Apple TV and all networking was connected to the same network and finally its yes to your other question of restarting it but if its the router I cant understand why my mac wasn't affected because that's on the same network to

I wonder if your new ISP is blocking the MAC addresses from streaming boxes. I never heard of it, but it is strange that everything else works except the streaming devices.

I have seen this using hotel Wifi on my ATVs. Since the ATV doesn't have a web browser, there is no way to log onto the hotels' website for network access.

Usually this can be worked around by having their helpdesk add the ATV MAC address. I am not sure if this pertains to your situation though, unless there is some special way to connect your devices to the internet via your ISP.

Any chance of using ethernet to do some troubleshooting?

If you run a temporary line from your router to your ATV, let us know if your internet starts working.

That could well be the answer ie. blocking the MAC addresses. To be honest with you, Id have to leave running the Ethernet from router to ATV 4 because I'm not in a potion to do this until someone is in my place because I'm a wheelchair user and its not in my capabilities mobility wise ;-) Nevermind thanks for the ideas I'll try it when someone is here.

I'm in the UK right now (for another 10 days :) :) :) you CAN use a different router, you simply have to get in touch with your Internet provider and they do whatever they need to at their end to register it. However who are you with as most of the routers are pretty decent from the UK providers. EE is excellent as is BT's right now. Sky is another matter but there is no reason why anyone should deal with that sorry state of an evil empire.
Virgin's router is excellent too.
I can't understand where the problem lies so my recommend is to have the internet provider sent their contractor to your house to sort everything out (that's the message from 2 of my pals who work for an Internet provider).

Any reason why you changed providers? Also why did you go down from 200mbps to 63mbps?

The one I have is virgin media the 200mps. The reason I changed was a few reasons A, Virginis quite expensive and B, their customer service is terrible C. I changed to my mobile provider because if it worked out I would have had a better deal. It's no good me getting another router because this one is ok and if I got another from the ISP that was offering the 63mps I'd have to sign up for another contract and Id have to pay for to contracts, Things are not worked the same in the UK as the USA plus the fact they'd want me to physically return it and without someone doing it on my behalf ie. a friend or family member for me its physically impossible

There are many benefits to using your own router versus the ISP supplied one, and you are not sure if the one you are using is okay because the internet isn't working on your streaming devices.

Based off of everything that you have mentioned, this would probably be the best advice for you:
so my recommend is to have the internet provider sent their contractor to your house to sort everything out

Or maybe have someone with some experience come to your home and assist you.

I can appreciate what your saying but a BT engineer has looked at both routers when I was going to change and couldn't fathom it out and the Internet Provider want a huge charge as a call-out fee before they look at it and if they charge extra to look at it and it still remains the same I'm just not prepared to let that happen ie. me paying for a job that's just not complete

That doesn't sound right under EU Law. Surely, if you've just signed up to them, then they are under obligation for it to work to a 100% satisfactory standard. All sounds very dodgy.

Sadly there really is not a cheap way to get 'good, reliable, fast' fibre broadband here in the UK. I pay £50 a month for my 400mbps unlimited broadband with a 1 year contract.
But then, it's the one thing that I use for everything - I simply couldn't be without fast and 100% reliable broadband whenever i'm at my home in the UK.

Best of luck with it buddy and I hope that you get it sorted 100%.

Thanks, this is another reason I was downgrading From 200mps to 63mps because I didn't really need the 2oomps if 63mps would've done me. and regarding EU we're leaving EU at the end of the month o nothing will count then, as far as they're concerned.

You're OK at the moment in terms of rights - I majored in Law at the University of Manchester. I studied EU Law and i'll tell you that, EU Law protects people - it's the BEST in the world at looking after humans! At the moment, the people in the UK are still protected but my God, they are in for a horrific shock if they lose those EU Laws that are truly truly looking after them. If only, the majority of the Brits had studied these Laws!!! They would have been incredibly thankful and honoured!
