So, I see that there was prior to this IOS update two ways to get a photo onto your watch. There was and still is photos, and the other which I don't see anymore is Portrait. Attempting to customize my watch is extremely difficult. You have no control over where the time and date can be placed, and unfortunately it's right in the way of your picture you wanted to add to you watch face. Thank you Apple.

ios11 (per your title) is not compatible with the U2, if you mean watchos11 - it's in BETA and you re supposed to provide feedback to Apple
