I'm trying to find out if there has been any news on the return policy for iPhone. I know that AT&T has stated they have an unopened return policy of 14 days and a 10% restocking if opened, but has anyone seen information on whether or not Apple is doing the same. I know for most products you buy from Apple store have 14 days or something similar. Reason I'm asking, I've been approached by a friend who wishes to purchase an iPhone (or rather have me get them one since I'm waiting in line) but is currently within a Verizon contract and is not entirely sure he wants to pay the ETF but is willing to go as far as buying one tomorrow.

 why would he do this??

Here is an idea: Have him sell his current phone to pay for the ETF.

Otherwise he should just go to the Apple store saturday or play with yours and figure out if he actually wants one.

ATT says that because its Apple's policy and not the other way around. ATT's normal policy is test drive for 30 days and come back for a full refund if not satisfied but they had to change it for the iPhone, well cos its Apple!

Well, he has a corporate account with his job, and he's not even sure if they will allow him to switch to AT&T.

That's what I was thinking too.
