the recent apple update caused problems to my powerbook,specifically to ichat. i tried some fies reccomended by people and they didnt work. some people did mention it had something to do with the beta safari update. is there any way to uninstall this?

it was an update that my computer found within the past week or week and a half. sorry i dont know the exact name. and yes i am running safari 3 beta. my friend with a mbp also has the same problem but also cannot read dvd-r blanks anymore.
There was an update to Safari Beta which fixed the iChat stalling issue. Should be v3.0.2. You can verify using Safari>About Safari. It included a security update, which came out separately (had to do with WebKit, which is in the beta).
If you still think the Safari Beta is causing problems, run its uninstaller (on the install DMG for the beta). It will return you to v2.x.
As far as DVD burning, I haven't heard of any issues related to the beta.
