The 30% fee doesn’t apply to media content in the iTunes Store.
It might not be 30% now, but there is a fee for all media content on the iTunes store. If you buy them through Amazon, that split becomes 0 for Apple.

You know you've backed yourself into a corner and now moving goalposts.

This is total BS, how is game streaming any different than Netflix? Does Apple require Netflix to submit each movie/show separately, of course not.

Apple seems adamant in not wanting anyone to play games on their devices that are not in the App store. Which is fine, when you buy Apple, you know you will never get a good gaming experience anyway so there's nothing new there. I use Apple for all my non gaming needs, and use a proper PC/consoles for gaming. It's a shame there is no alternative to the Nintendo Switch for portable gaming though.
You must of never heard of the PS Vita!!!

Stadia adds about +44ms of latency. Xcloud adds about +54ms. Xcloud is slower. I don't know where you're getting your data from. It sounds like you've never tried offerings from others.
Tried stadia, onlive, shadow and nvidia go. xbox is the only service with consistent good performance. I have used it on Samsung s20 and ended up buying a tab A to play on when I’m away from home. The galaxy tab is a pos slow ass tablet but once game pass is running and streaming you don’t need to interact with Android again. I use an Xbox pad and it’s great. I have continued my games of hellblade, forza horizon 4, sea of thieves, crackdown 3 and streets of rage on xcloud. It has, for me, seamless performance and is a great addition to game pass. I can play when away from home, on my PC and Xbox. So Apple just need to get their thumb outta their butt.

also all streaming services are reliant on your broadband and server location, xcloud is solid, stadia kept lowering resolution. Stadia lag is terrible if you don’t use the stadia pad, xcloud works fine with Bluetooth or a connected pad. I get my data from real world usage playing on tablet not on a big screen with google kit like eurogamer did. If big screen then I’ll use my PC or Xbox or PS4 pro all locally connected which blow stadia out of the water.

I think you have things a bit mixed up.
There is a content store called Itunes where Apple acts like a traditional retailer. It buys ready made product at wholesale price and sells it at a profit. The fee they pay the wholesaler is essentially their cut of the sale. Music labels have a set price they charge and so do Movie studios. I dont believe this is a blanket 30% because it cant be. Each company has negotiated its own deal for the content Apple takes from them.

Then there is the app store where Apple sells applications through its service and charges a fee for that process. The fee for that is fixed 30% for developers / publishers to use that service for every unit / item sold.

They are different things.
The huge difference is that the content in the Itunes store is generally available anywhere. It does not rely on api's or OS features. A film, a song etc.. can be played anywhere. An app cannot. The only sticky issue is DRM for movies which the studio's insist upon.

I think you dont understand who is being paid and why when it comes to retail in general.

okay...? i’m just showing you what the results of the tests were with real numbers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

OK. So will Microsoft let users to download an App on their xBox and stream all PlayStation games, Stadia and Steam games? Never.

Correct. The thing is with this discussion that neither Steam nor Google Stadia oder Playstation want to be on the Xbox.

And you are discussing the wrong front here. Google allows XCloud on their devices, Apple doesn't. As owner of GamePass Ultimate in for a phone purchase this year the iPhone 12 really has to offer something - as switching to Android seems to be the only option in my personal situation.

And given there are millions of GamePass Ultimate subscribers you will see millions of people switch to Android. Simple as that.

Those GamePass Ultimate Subscribers doesn't need to "switch" ... just buy a low-end Android device, for $100 or less. It's for streaming anyway hence processing power shouldn't matter much. Having more than one device helps with battery life too.

Thus doesn't take any sales away from the iPhone.

Well - the iPhone 12 has to deliver something. TouchID in power-button would be a good starting point - alas with the thin fetish the feature will be broken right away as you will have to use a thick case to protect this piece of tech (as durability remains a non-issue in the design team).

Therefore there are lots of appealing Android decvices out there. I was just arguing from my perspective. My iPhone 8 is getting old (which I chose because of TouchID). And I won't buy two devices.

Each xCloud game would also need to be reviewed by Apple, just like any other app in the store.

It’s like a movie Toy Story 4 gets a separate app and needs to be reviewed by Apple before being able to stream.
First, what Apple is suggesting is that it’s just as it is today. Some media, like music and movies are consumed differently than games. Whilst all games are treated as separate apps. Or do you go into the App Store to launch your apps?

Secondly, can you honestly say the situation with TV and Movies is great today? Having to browse through half a dozen apps to find a specific movie or show. The TV app is a way to unify it, but since some are outside that eco system it’s not perfect.

What Apple is suggesting is just that this stays a coherent experience with how things are today.

Okay. here me out. Both Google and MSFT suck when it comes to game catalog. Neither app offers a search function.

if the App Store now acts like a Apple version of steam, I would not mind. For example, RDR2 is on Stadia. You can still buy it on stadia.com, but you can also buy on the App Store. Once purchase your linked account will reflected on the stadia app. If Apple adds a dedicated Stadia/xCloud gaming tab, I can see this working. Like Steam.
No, please in the name of sanity no. We don't need another service with bucketloads of poorly made games and Unity asset flips crowding out the average to good stuff. :)

I agree 100%. There's no need, however the number of iOS users bashing Google/MSFT for not offering their services is ridiculous. Blaming them instead of Apple. Threatening to cancel because its not on iOS.

Amazon's Luna is a step in the right direction since it is a web app. For those who play Stadia, we are able to play via the Chrome browser or Chromecast Ultra. If Google is able to work an API that allows Stadia to work on the Chrome browser or Safari on iOS/iPadOS, we should be good. I can't say for MSFT as their Game Pass on PC comes with an App. xCloud on PC however is a different story.
