As usual, I'll wait until the next time I shut down my iMac to update.

I really hope they fixed the issue where iPhoto hangs for a bit upon quitting the application, I'm sick of seeing beach balls.

Any developers here with M.L. GM also experiences long software update checks?

I've filed bug reports with engineering, but compared to previous OS X variants it's certainly been slower.

(and yet the download speed is fast, dl'ed in less than 5 minutes)

Also experienced this issue too.

Still doesn't work

I have the new version (9.3.1) and it still clumps them into "From MobileMe". Anyone else have this problem?

I noticed "Empty iPhoto Trash" in the iPhoto sub menu. Is this new?

Still ticked iPhoto "Time Machine" support was removed. Makes no sense.

Are you saying my photos are no longer backed up on my time machine, after this update? Or Am I off base?

This showed up on my 2012 Air running 10.8GM but doesn't show on my RMBP running 10.7.4??

Anyone else with a RMBP not seeing this update? I didn't notice how big my update was on the air but it did it really quick. Like maybe 5 seconds to download so I'm sure it wasn't very large.

EDIT: Actually, I just checked the App store and it is there to update on the RMBP. But running Software Update says all apps are up to date?? Anyways, it is 43.39MB on the RMBP.

Addresses a problem during the migration of albums from MobileMe Gallery that may cause photos to be moved from their original events into a new event called "From MobileMe"

This is great, considering MobileMe officially ended 12 days ago...

Yes I know they're still letting people take stuff off MobileMe, but for those who did it before the deadline, this fix is a little late in the game.

I wonder if this fixes the problem with Photo Stream that brings my entire Quad-Core i7 beast of an iMac to it's knees? Got so bad I turned Photo Stream off.

Photo Stream doesn't slow down in Windows 7 on my partition.

I have the new version (9.3.1) and it still clumps them into "From MobileMe". Anyone else have this problem?

My guess is that it just means that people who do the migration now will not have their photos dumped into the "From MobileMe" folder, from the wording it doesn't sound like it fixes it if you already migrated before the upgrade to 9.3.1.

The update … can be downloaded via Software Update

No. Didn’t show up here (rMPB 10.7.4).

No. When I launched the iPhone9.3.1Update.pkg it said something like: "Warning. The version of iPhoto what is installed on this Mac must be updated via Mac App Store. Check out Mac App Store if there is a update for you." And a "Close" button.

And yes. There was the update in the Mac App Store!

Anyone else with a RMBP not seeing this update?

Yes. (Not under common Software Update.)

EDIT: Actually, I just checked the App store and it is there to update on the RMBP. But running Software Update says all apps are up to date?? Anyways, it is 43.39MB on the RMBP.

Same here. It seems that rMBPs have to download it via Mac App Store and nowhere else.

(BTW I got an iTunes update some hours earlier. Via Software Update.)

For me.

MT Lion gm upgraded from lion a few nights ago,
Got the update its at 630.41mb I guess I got some part in the system because you guys reporting 900gb, must me on snow leo or something

Oh sure NOW you fix it Apple... AFTER I've already fixed the 2000+ photos you ripped out of their carefully organized events. I sure hope this doesn't re-screw up my events again.

updated .... It looks like iPhoto is now working much better .... it used to take up to a full minute to load and had to " enable " fotostream every single ***** time .

I just hope ML fix all the rest .... was seriously considering upgrading my early 2011 iMac to 8 Gb ram cause my 2008 BlackMB 2,4 used to rum overall much smoother with only 2 Gb Ram on SN....:(

Ugggghhhhhhh!!!!!

Every friggin' sassa frassin' update I do on my iMac since Lion greets me with this ********** alert. Simply replace the "iPhoto Update" with any other update and I get the same corrupted during download message. Eventually it will update after 3-6x of trying. My update is 630MB by the way.

Are you saying my photos are no longer backed up on my time machine, after this update? Or Am I off base?

It used to work as follows:

Open iPhoto
Click on "Time Machine"
iPhoto opens in "Time Machine" like Mail and Contacts

This allows you to retrieve images within the app, just as you can open Contacts, then "Time Machine" to restore individual contacts, etc.

Now it simply backs up your library database as before without allowing access to restore individual photo's, albums, etc. in iPhoto should you inadvertently delete them and empty iPhoto's trash. If you delete a pic, you can't restore it in iPhoto. You would have to restore your entire library database for iPhoto.

This is quite ridiculous and I do not know why Apple changed it. It may be related to iPhoto Streaming or some such feature as this changed with iPhoto 9 (this happened around a year ago, I forget which version changed this functionality). Either way, it was a huge step backward.

This is great, considering MobileMe officially ended 12 days ago...

Yes I know they're still letting people take stuff off MobileMe, but for those who did it before the deadline, this fix is a little late in the game.

But this is Apple's way; take their time to get it right. Who wants them to rush it when it isn't perfect :p

The difference in size for the update depends on whether you used Software Update or The Mac App Store. The MAS update was a small delta of approximately 45MB. The SU update could be anywhere from 600MB to 900MB. Why there was such a difference is hard to say. I think one explanation is that unless you were updating from version 9.3.0, your update size was going to be larger.

I got the update on one of my MBPs, and not the other. Both on Lion

Edit: now have it on both. On one it showed up in Software Update, on the other only in the App Store update. Weird since one was a clone of the other a few weeks ago.
