Earlier today, Apple issued a minor update to its MobileMe iDisk [App Store, Free] application for the iPhone and iPod touch. The update brings several improvements, including autocompletion of e-mail addresses, image save and copy, and faster downloads, as well as a new application icon.
What's New in Version 1.1
- Autocomplete email addresses when choosing recipients for a shared file
- File sharing emails are automatically saved to your Mail account’s Sent folder
- When viewing an image, tap and hold to save it to the camera roll or copy it to another app
- Maximum setting for cache size is now 500MB (from 200MB)
- Faster downloads
- Various bug fixes
- Localizations for Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish
MobileMe iDisk was released in late July, offering MobileMe subscribers easy access to their online iDisk storage with support for viewing a number of popular document types.

If they allowed us to save videos in the camera roll that would be awesome.

Hmmm. I've been experiencing that, lately, with my phone/apps. I'll have "x" number of updates available, I install them, and then the appstore tells me I have the same updates available, still. Same thing is happening in iTunes, on my computer. --- Anyone else noticing this on their phones/computers?

Me as well...I think this is quite widespread, as I've seen it mentioned a few times on here the past few days...

Sometimes I can get it to work if I try it several times (as I did with this iDisk update) but other times I just have to do it through iTunes and it works fine.

storage is still at 200mb

I downloaded and it's definitely the latest version (new icon; i can save images to photos), but 200mb is still the maximum storage space. Anyone else seeing that?

I dislike the gray part of the new icon but it is WAY faster in viewing files. An 8mb PDF used to take 6 minutes to view but now it takes a few seconds.

MUCH better icon! Very sexy and lickable now haha. :D

P.S. Anyone else ever notice how much Apple seems to love blue? Go ahead and count the Apple icons on your iPhone, or the Mac for that matter. :p

Aqua ring a bell? :p Apple was nothing but Blue and White for like 5 years - 10.0-10.4. The second half of the OS X series - 10.5-10.9 seems to have moved to Black and Purple. I personally liked the old colors. A lot more subtle and calming if you asked me. I was really looking forward to a new blue wallpaper in Leopard actually, but I got used to the purple.

Anyway, mildly back on topic. I updated an App yesterday - iTimeLapse Pro or something like that. Same update was pushed to me today. Didn't try upgrading the iDisk app yet though. It's not on my iPhone since I have no MobileMe. :p New icon looks cooler regardless.

Better icon? I was going to say the opposite, I prefer it looking like a mounted disk does on my desk-top.

Oh well, each to their own.

That is a cute new icon.

I had the same "fake update" problem when I attempted to run the update from my phone... I'd had that problem with several updates recently. This time I went and got the update on my computer's iTunes instead, and then synced my phone via USB, and finally the correct new version ended up on my phone...

Weird that the original thread didn't get merged in here like they normally do. I had posted about similar difficulties in updating. I waited until today and it installed fine. Just took some time. Love the new icon as well. It is simple and effective, less cluttery. As a designer, I approve.

Well yes, there is the obvious blue in the Mac OS UI, but I was referring to the app icons.

I like a hint of new colors like in Leopard and Snow Leopard now, and I really like the new Snow Leopard wallpaper. All in all I like the whole theme.

Yes, but obviously Apple wasn't happy with it as it was. I think the new one is meant to also look like a mounted drive. Hence the bottom silver bar with the light on it like a drive still, but close up.

A little more diligence wouldn't harm Apple

Good, Apple.

Next, see to it that the next iPhone iteration incorporates all the hardware and software features missing in the preceding models: there are quite a few!..
