Nice change for iOS users. I hope this isn't a start down the path to touch desktops. I wouldn't think it would be but since Apple has often tossed out the "Post PC Era" phrase a few times, anything can happen.

More phones and Tablets than PC's sold every year since 2010. Its the post PC Era already.

With that attitude the the iPad would have never have come into existence, given the disaster of Windows Tablets. Implementation is everything and just b/c HP doesn't do a good job doesn't mean Apple can't design something that is intuitive and improving upon people's current work flow.

I can agree that an open mind is mandatory for such situations but my arm's muscles will seriously disagree after 30 minutes of continuous use, if not earlier.
So unless the iMac takes a more horizontal approach in the future, I don't see the ergonomics team at cupertino signing off on it.

Touchscreen iMac? Best Idea Ever;)

Somehow, this infers (to me at least) that the next revision of the MacBook Pro/Air line is touch screen enabled.

Nice touch :)

not on ya life..

Why would Apple go to touch on their Mac line ? We already have it... Its the iPad.. Unless OS X was wanting to run, then battery life would go down ....

Physical keyboards and touch screens do not go together if their all-in-one computers.. But if its a tablet that is docked, thats different, because the user deliberately docked it.

Its not the fact i don't like a tablet being docked, its the simple fact the user is now also using touch, "as well" as a physically keyboard interchangeably for different tasks. Why ? its a puzzle. Simply because I think touch is always better, or even a pen attached for drawing....

You can do some things quicker with touch, or somethings better with a physical keyboard, but not both depending on which task your doing..

If i'm on my Macbook Pro, I'll use a keyboard, and if i use my iPad, i'll use touch. And if i did need a keyboard, i'd either dock it and use the keyboard as intended only, or bluetooth it to a wireless keyboard.

Whats wrong with this?
