Long story short...I am thinking theirs a chance I might not be super enthused about the iPhone 7.

Currently I am on the Apple Upgrade Plan. I understand that the whole price must be paid for the 24 month installments. In theory, come September I am not wanting the new iPhone, and want to go to a different phone, do I have to pay the remainder of my phone right then? Could I go get me a dif phone through my carrier and just keep making the payments on my iPhone until paid off? Does the iPhone have to remain active or does that matter?

Well basically when the new iPhone is announced I (and many others) would be approximately 12 months in....assuming you started your financing through Citizens last year at launch of the 6s. If I decide to get another phone all together (not iPhone), I would owe 12 more payments to make it mine. Paying the full 24 payments equals the retail price of the phone plus the $129 added for the Apple Care.

So in September, can I just pay off the remainder of the phone so I can be out of the loan? And would I be required to pay that extra money factored in for the Apple Care?? I can't find any information on Citizens website about my account etc

I believe once you have made six payments on the phone, you can then make additional payments and/or pay the phone off if you so choose.

I'm on the IUP as well and if the 7 doesn't really do much for me, I'll just keep using my 6s.

I literally cannot find anything with Citizens Bank about my account. I would like to see what my payoff etc is for the phone. Can anyone help me out?

If you go through the eligibility procedure, it will tell you what payments are due for you to be able to upgrade or if you will be able to do so without charge.

For example, I was told I needed to make one more payment or wait until after September 18.

Yes you can pay it off by calling them or Apple. If you don't choose to pay it off right now. Get a new phone via carrier and keep on paying for the remainder amount for iPhone for the next 12 months and it will be yours.
