Hi I was wondering if credit score matters when doing the Apple Upgrade Program, as I just received a credit card (new credit cards have a credit score of zero). Also would we pay for tax upfront for the entire device?

Also I am wondering if we have to stick with the big 4 carriers (Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T) if we do the iPhone Upgrade Program.

If we do have to stick with them, and I choose T-Mobile, would it be fine if I do the prepaid plan or do I have to get a 2 year contract?

There are a couple of long threads about both of these topics already, both filled with a lot of educated guesses. Check them out. In summary, though, there will be a credit check that will likely look at your credit score but the requirements probably won't be very stringent. We have been given a lot of conflicting info about whether you can activate an Upgrade Program phone on a carrier other than the Big 4. Apple Chat reps are giving out different answers. Some folks have heard that you have to activate on the Big 4 before you walk out of the store. Personally, I want to buy an Upgrade Program phone and activate on US Cellular. Once, chat told me I could. Once, chat told me I couldn't. My suspicion is that the official answer is 'no' but they will still do it for me because it will be obvious I am not buying the phone to resell it to China.

Check out the threads about the Upgrade Program for all the details. Hope this helps.

The fact that they said they will do a credit check means that something about that credit check matters. You are accentually taking out a perpetual lone from them.

Also. It is impossible to have a credit score of Zero if you have a credit card. Go to Credit karma and sign up for a free account and see what its at.
