Hi, I made an Apple Upgrade for iPhone XS and gave them the previous iPhone X which was also on Apple Upgrade loan for one year (made 12 payments out of 24) .

If I do not like iPhone XS and return it within 14 days, what happened with both loans?
Do they give my iPhone X back? Or I should pay for iPhone X loan without the phone?

Thanks.

and gave them the previous iPhone X

Why on earth did you do that, if you were uncertain?

I dunno about the Apple program. I'm on ATT Next Every Year. You have a return period. I always return the old phone at an ATT walkin store on the last day of the return period. It's the only rational way to do it.

I suspect you forfeited your right to keep the old phone when you turned it in. They aren't likely to be keeping it in "escrow".

Read the terms of your agreement. Did you?

(ATT even has some additional grace period, as well, though I don't know exactly how long. Since I return the phone at a walkin store on the last day, I always get the notice saying "we didn't get your phone yet, but you can still return it, please contact us, blah, blah, blah" followed a few days later with "we received your phone, everything's cool..."

If you traded the X in to get the XS the X is gone. They will pay off the previous loan and start a new one for the XS. If you decide you don't like the XS, you can give it back and they'll just cancel the new loan. Then you'll have to get a new device..

Once you trade in your X for the XS, your old loan closes out and is done for. IF you are still within your return window for the XS, you can return it and Apple will then close out the loan for the XS after you return it, and no they don't give your old phone back, you'll just have to buy a new one.

you don't have the X, but you also don't owe anything against it. So if you were thinking about saving some $$$, this is the time to do it because you have nothing but you owe nothing if you return the XS
